Connected Games Development

My Journey of Creating a Multiplayer Game (Connected Games Development) Introduction to the Module & Team Formation.

Welcome to the very first blog new module called Connected Games Development. Here I’ll be sharing my updates on the multiplayer game we are supposed to make by the end of this module. To start with we were told by our faculty members to form a team of two programmers and two designers (including me). I was excited to collaborate and create a multiplayer game.

We started by brainstorming our vision and expectations for the game, making sure that everyone was on the same page. We wanted to create a game that was not just for hardcore gamers but for casual players as well. We realized that when people think of multiplayer games, they often think of shooters. As a game designer, I wanted to create a game that would reach a wider audience.

Our goal was to make a fun yet simple game, as sometimes complex games are not enjoyed as much as simple ones. We also wanted to create a game that would allow players to connect and interact with each other, as multiplayer games are not just about playing, but also about socializing.

To come up with ideas, we took inspiration from TV shows like Takeshi's Castle and Total Wipeout, as well as games like Fall Guys and Super Mario. After further discussion, we came up with the idea of creating a multiplayer game show.

The game show will consist of a series of challenges that players will compete in. The challenges will be inspired by the TV shows and games we mentioned earlier. For example, one challenge could be a race where players have to navigate an obstacle course and reach the finish line. Another challenge could be a team-based challenge where players have to work together to complete a task.

We want the game show to have a fun and lighthearted feel to it. We also want to incorporate elements of humour and surprise to keep players engaged and entertained. We plan to have a variety of challenges that will appeal to different types of players.

In terms of gameplay, we want the game to be easy to pick up and play but also have enough depth to keep players coming back for more. We plan to have a matchmaking system that will pair players with others who are at a similar skill level.

Overall, I’m excited to be working on this project along with my team and can’t wait to see it come to life. I will be sharing updates as my team progresses, so be sure to check back for my next blog!
